On 26 January 2026, Mentor Arabia participated in the International Day of Education (IDE) 2026 Regional Webinar, titled “Youth Co-Creating Value-Based Education in the Arab Region”, organized as part of the SDG 4 Regional Dialogues: Arab States.
Held online and hosted by UNESCO Beirut, the regional dialogue brought together youth from across the Arab region, alongside National Focal Points of the UNESCO 2023 Recommendation on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Sustainable Development, to engage in a participatory discussion on the role of youth in shaping inclusive, relevant, and value-based education systems.
The webinar aligned with the global IDE 2026 theme, “The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education,” highlighting young people as key drivers of sustainable development, innovation, and social transformation. Discussions focused on youth lived experiences within education systems, the challenges they face, and the opportunities for meaningful youth engagement in advancing SDG 4, particularly Target 4.7 on global citizenship, peace, and sustainable development.
Mentor Arabia’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to amplifying youth voices, supporting value-based education, and fostering regional dialogue that bridges grassroots youth engagement with policy-level processes. Through interactive activities, breakout sessions, and youth-led reporting, participants co-created insights and recommendations aimed at strengthening youth participation in education reform across the region.
The dialogue concluded with a youth-informed synthesis of key messages and priorities, which will contribute to regional SDG 4 processes and be annexed to the Regional Roadmap for the Operationalization of the UNESCO 2023 Recommendation in the Arab Region, ensuring that youth perspectives are institutionally anchored within regional education framework.
