Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Al-Jabri, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Mentor Arabia, in partnership with the Ghiras Awareness Program and the Kuwaiti National Youth Project at the initiative of the Amiri Diwan, held the awards ceremony for the second edition of the Youth Empowerment Films & Songs Competition in the State of Kuwait.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Saud Al-Babtain, representing His Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mentor Arabia, alongside a distinguished group of prominent artists from Kuwait and the wider Arab world, cultural figures, youth representatives, and members of the media.
During the event, talented young filmmakers were honored for their creative contributions.
The second edition’s judging process brought together a distinguished advisory board and category-specific panels, composed of experienced professionals in film and the arts, who evaluated submissions across the narrative, documentary, and public service announcement categories.
His Excellency Minister Muhammad Al-Jabri underscored the State of Kuwait’s efforts to support youth creativity, noting the importance of empowering young people to present innovative ideas that address the challenges they face — particularly those related to health and social wellbeing.
Supported by VIVA Communications, Ahli United Bank, and Al-Babtain Group of Companies, the competition also embraced the power of social media in its outreach, with the hashtag #encourage_your_youth used widely across platforms to amplify positive youth behaviours and engagement during the ceremony.
Launched as part of Mentor Arabia’s regional initiative to champion young Arab artistic voices and challenge them to create meaningful films and songs on urgent community issues, the second edition reinforced the competition’s role in fostering awareness, artistic expression, and social impact among youth across the region.
The competition jury includes esteemed artists, celebrities and industry professionals respectively as follow: Abdulla Al Kaabi, Abdullah Hasan Ahmad, Ahd Kamel, Amin Dora, Ahmad Khatib, Bernadette Shramm, Chaker Khazaal, Essam Youssef, Ghida Majzoub, Lamia Guiga, Marian Khoury, Miled Abi Raad, Nelly Karim, Qays Sheikh Najib, Thuraya Ismail.
