On June 30th, Mentor Arabia participated in the ISSUP and UNODC webinar titled “Highlights from the 2026 UNODC World Drug Report,” presented by Giovanna Campello, Chief of the Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Section at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The webinar provided an overview of the latest findings and global trends highlighted in the 2026 UNODC World Drug Report, offering valuable insights into the evolving drug situation worldwide.

The session presented the most recent evidence on patterns of drug use, emerging substances, and the growing public health, social, and security challenges associated with drug use globally. It also emphasized the importance of strengthening evidence-informed prevention, expanding access to treatment and recovery services, and promoting balanced, health-centered responses to substance use.

Participants were introduced to key recommendations from the report, highlighting the need for greater investment in prevention, early intervention, and integrated approaches that address the underlying risk and protective factors influencing substance use. The discussion also underscored the value of international collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and the use of evidence to guide policies and prevention strategies.

Mentor Arabia’s participation reflects its continued commitment to staying informed of the latest global evidence and best practices in substance use prevention, while strengthening its efforts to promote evidence-based prevention policies and programs across the Arab region.
