The launch event of the TUI Program for Future Leaders – Youth Peer Mentoring marked the official start of a new cycle of youth empowerment initiatives in Tunisia. Implemented through a collaboration between TUI Care Foundation and Mentor Arabia, and hosted in partnership with the University of Monastir, the event brought together young women, mentors, and institutional partners in a shared space of learning and connection.
Held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Dr. Ali Ben Rahma Auditorium, Faculty of Dental Medicine of Monastir, the event gathered 251 mentees and 28 mentors, alongside representatives from Mentor Arabia, the University of Monastir, the University of Mahdia, and PEEMO. The launch provided a formal platform to introduce the program’s vision, objectives, and implementation approach, while setting the foundation for meaningful mentor–mentee engagement.
The event opened with participant registration, followed by a welcoming address by the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Syrine Hleli, who set an inclusive and motivating tone. A recap video showcasing achievements from previous program cycles offered participants a clear picture of the program’s impact and trajectory. This was followed by keynote interventions from Mr. Kamal Charrada, President of the University of Monastir; Ms. Hanane Kalakesh representing Mentor Arabia; and Mrs. Salma Zone representing PEEMO. Speakers emphasized the importance of youth leadership, peer learning, and active participation, encouraging mentees to fully engage in the journey ahead.
A key moment of the launch was the testimonial session, where former participants Aya Chebbah and Yosra Bengharsallah shared their personal experiences, illustrating the tangible benefits of peer mentoring on personal growth, confidence, and professional orientation. The session “About the Activities,” facilitated by Safaa, then outlined the upcoming phases of the program and clarified expectations for participants.
The second half of the event focused on interaction and relationship-building. Mentees were grouped by mentors and took part in 28 BINGO bonding activities, designed to foster teamwork, communication, and early trust between mentors and mentees. These activities transformed the launch from a formal introduction into an engaging, participatory experience that reflected the core values of the peer mentoring model.
The event concluded with a collective group photo, bringing together all participants and partners and symbolizing the start of a shared journey. Overall, the launch successfully introduced young women to the TUI Program for Future Leaders, clarified the program’s structure and next steps, and created an environment conducive to connection, motivation, and long-term engagement—laying a strong foundation for youth-led development in the tourism and services sectors.
