Prevention resources for parents, teachers and healthcare professionals

The school’s role in prevention is crucial. Young people’s attachment to school is a powerful protective factor which makes them resilient against substance misuse, and this is strengthened by a positive and supportive school ethos and by the delivery of high-quality alcohol and drug education. Schools are also well placed to intervene early if a young person’s alcohol or drug use is causing problems.

Here you will find resources developed to support alcohol and drug prevention and education provision in schools as well as community and non-formal educational settings.
