Gala 2016 – Kuwait

Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Al-Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, President of Mentor International, and Prince Turki Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of Mentor Arabia, a Gala dinner took place on the 22nd of October, 2016. More than 350 guests from all over the world came to take a close look at the work of Mentor in the field of empowerment of children and youth to protect them from risky behavior.

More than 350 guests from all over the world came to take a close look at the work of Mentor Arabia in the field of empowerment of children and young people to protect them from risky behaviors and drugs.

His Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mentor Arabia, displayed a ten-year process of due diligence, hard work to achieve the organization’s mission, which seeks to provide opportunities for a sound and healthy life for our children and youth; by enabling them, developing and arming them with the knowledge and enhance their self-confidence to tackle all forms of risky behaviors and the challenges they may face.

The Gala dinner is hosted by Mr. Faisal al Mutawa, Executive Chairman of “Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa” Company and the vice-chairman of Mentor Arabia. It was attended by a number of royalties, board members from Mentor Arabia and Mentor International, as well as business people, NGOs, parents, experts, youth and media representatives.

This was followed by the distribution of Mentor Arabia Award ceremony for young activists and influencers, who have a positive impact on human and social development among youth process.

Dinner included a live sand show about Mentor Arabia work in ten years, which gained the audience applause. The dinner ended with Kuwaiti heritage, where an orchestra played the most beautiful melodies of Kuwait’s history and culture.

The Foundation has collaborated with many companies for the success of this event: “Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa”, “Al Babtain Group companies”, “Al Sayer Group”, “Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences”, “Ahli United Bank”, “Al Mal Investment Company”, “Five Levels” and “4Fest”.

A “hashtag” has been created especially for this ceremony #EmpoweredArabYouth. It has been used in all social media posts before and during the ceremony.

A night of togetherness and unity. A night of hope for the children and youth of the Arab world. A night for a better tomorrow.
