Media & Drug Prevention Regional Conference in Kuwait

Mentor Arabia, under the patronage of the Minister of Media and Youth Affairs and in partnership with the National Anti-Drugs Media Project in Kuwait (Ghiras), organized a regional conference on "the role of media and social media in drug prevention"; which was held in Kuwait city on the 18th and 19th of March 2015.

Mentor Arabia, under the patronage of the Minister of Media and Youth Affairs and in partnership with the National Anti-Drugs Media Project in Kuwait (Ghiras), organized a regional conference on “the role of media and social media in drug prevention”; which was held in Kuwait city on the 18th and 19th of March 2015.

The goal of the conference, which was the first of its kind in the Middle East, was to highlight the important role that media, and especially social media, could play in preventing youth from drug use. In addition to displaying the correct and effective media tools to use when discussing drugs; as well as exchanging successful experiences in this field among different Arab countries.

The conference was organized over 2 days. In day one, more than 16 speakers from across the Middle East gave speeches on the topic of drugs and their own experiences in covering the topic. On the second day, the participants were divided into groups, where each group developed a full-fledged drug prevention and awareness media
